Summer Festival postponed over deadly Aqaba gas leak incident

Ammon News - Next weekend's activities of the Jordan Summer Festival will be suspended due to the chlorine gas leak incident in Aqaba on Monday that took 13 lives and injured more than 300 people, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Nayef Al-Fayez announced Tuesday.

According to a ministry statement, events of the two-month festival, which were slated for Friday in Madaba, Karak, Tafileh, Ma'an and Aqaba governorates were postponed due to the tragic incident.


The minister expressed condolences to the victims' families and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
