Minister highlights women's role in development

Ammon News - Minister of Culture Haifa Najjar said Jordan is an exemplary model of diversity, quality, pluralism, governance, and absolute integrity, reaffirming cooperation in all sectors to ensure gender equality among academics.

Patronizing the concluding conference of the Female Academic Role Model Empowerment, Equality and Sustainability at Universities in the Mediterranean Region: towards 2030 Agenda (FREE) project on Tuesday, Najjar underscored women's status in Jordan, calling them a "key component of development" and lauding exemplary academic women in high leadership roles.

The FREE project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Program of the European Union, aims to enhance women's academic role in Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria by involving them in decision-making roles in higher education institutions in a more effective way, as well as promoting gender equality policy and prepping inspiring and enabled women leaders.
