Ammon News - Chairman of the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) Khalil Hajj Tawfiq called on Monday to form a joint Jordanian-Lebanese investment council between the chamber, Lebanese investors and company directors residing in the Kingdom to resolve obstacles hindering their businesses.
During a meeting with Lebanese businesspeople and CEOs residing in Jordan, Hajj Tawfiq noted that the commercial exchange between Jordan and Lebanon went down from $194 million in 2017 to $151 million in 2021, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He added that Jordanian imports from Lebanon in 2021 increased to $106 million compared with $73 million in 2020. Chargé D'affaires at the Lebanese embassy in Jordan Yousef Raji expressed his country’s keenness to enhance relations with Jordan in various fields, noting that the embassy is invested in supporting the private sector in its goals to increase commerce and investment.
