Ammon News - Care International Monday marked World Refugee Day under the theme, "Whoever, Whatever, Whenever. Everyone has the right to seek safety" to promote the rights of refugees to live in safety and dignity.
CARE held many events in celebration of World Refugee Day, which falls on June 20 of every year, especially in the Azraq Refugee Camp, where they held football matches, tug of war and other sports activities, according to CARE.
Mohammad Khaled, who is a Syrian refugee in Amman, said, "I came to Jordan in 2013, and I currently work with Care International.
I have come to celebrate World Refugee Day. Ideally, this occasion should be a happy one because we have to smile at our fortune and be optimistic about life.
"My message is levelled at all refugees on this day; my friends and family: enjoy, life is beautiful [holding a sign]. We must overcome all hardship and the hard days we went through...," Mohammad added.
CARE also held dialogue sessions whereby refugees would gather to talk about concepts such as the word refugee and shed light on the plight of refuge and war.
