Ammon News - First Deputy Lower House Speaker, MP Ahmad Safadi, said the Palestinian cause is a pan-Arab issue and Jordan's support to the Palestinian people to achieve their legitimate rights on their national soil, lauding the shared Jordan-Palestine history and commonalities.
Safadi made the remarks while delivering a speech on behalf of the LH Speaker, at a festival organized by Professional Associations Complex (PAC) Saturday, entitled "Supporting Al-Aqsa and Jerusalem Sanctuaries" on the 74th anniversary of Nakba Day.
Referring to the Palestinian people's steadfastness and sacrifices, he said Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Palestine.
The 74th anniversary of Nakba Day documents the largest crime that humanity has witnessed, including displacement, killing civilians and land confiscation until now, he pointed out.
Jordan, under its Hashemite leadership, will continue defending and supporting Palestinian people until they achieve their legitimate rights on their land by establishing their independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, Safdai said.
For his part, Secretary General of the Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs (RCJA), Abdullah Kanaan, said Jerusalem is "our compass and our first story. The holy city will remain the Palestinian Arab Islamic capital."
On the sidelines of the event, Safadi inaugurated Jerusalem exhibition, under the theme :"Eternal capital of Palestine," and the father of the Jordanian prisoner, Osaid Abu Khdeir, was honored.
