Ammon News - The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) has approved the first Pharmacovigilance centre in the northern region at King Abdullah University Hospital.

JFDA Director General Nizar Mheidat said that the centre, a branch of the main centre at the administration, aims to detect and assess the side effects of drugs, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The programme was launched earlier this year by the JFDA in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation office in Jordan to offer training for 1,000 healthcare providers over reporting and understanding medicine-related problems.
