Canadian envoy inaugurates EV charging point project in Ajloun

Ammon News - The Canadian Ambassador in Amman, Donica Pottie, Monday inaugurated the project of the EV Charging Point in Ajloun, the photovoltaic generation system and smart bus shelters in the bus station in downtown Ajloun with a JD120,000 Canadian fund.

Pottie inaugurated the photovoltaic generation system for Ajloun Castle with a capacity of 50 kilowatts which was implemented by the Development Project Economic and Sustainable Energy in Jordan (SEED) to reduce the electricity bill.

Pottie noted that the Canadian government is looking forward to increasing its cooperation with Jordan by drumming up support and establishing eco-friendly projects in renewables.

The Mayor of Greater Ajloun Municipality, Hamza Zogoul, and the Director of the SEED Project, Mohammad Ramadan, signed an agreement according to which the management of the EV charging point project was handed over to the municipality.

Zogoul praised the pivotal role and continued support provided by Canada for Jordan, highlighting the importance of directing external grants to municipalities, as he explained that they are institutions in direct contact with local communities.
