Garments drive Irbid's exports to $110mln in May

Ammon News - Outbound shipments from Irbid's garment and textile industries sent the northern governorate's total exports in May to $110.8 million, a 59.9 percent increase over the same month in 2021.

Hani Abu Hassan, President of the Irbid Chamber of Industry, said on Thursday that the Al-Hassan Industrial Estate accounted for the bulk of monthly exports, contributing $105 million to the total, followed by exports from the Cyber City at $4.4 million.

He explained that garments exports amounted to $104 million, foodstuffs $1.7 million, and pharmaceuticals $2.6 million. About $80 million of the northern governorate's exports' yield came from the United States, European countries $10.6 million, and Arab countries $6.5, while the remainder came from other parts of the world.
