Audit Bureau hosts Arab investment monitoring symposium

Ammon News - An Arab specialized training symposium on "Public Investments Monitoring," organized by Jordan Audit Bureau (JAB), in cooperation with the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI), kicked off on Sunday.

The meeting, which will run until next Thursday, comes within the framework of the implementation of the action plan for the training program, approved by ARABOSAI's Executive Board at its 62nd session, which was held in Qatar recently.

Speaking at the event, JAB Secretary-General, Ibrahim Majali, said the meeting is an opportunity to enhance the Arab participants' skills and capabilities in monitoring public investments, in a manner that serves Arab regulatory work and keeps pace with developments in Arab countries in the investment field.

For his part, representative of ARABOSAI Secretary-General, Sami Nouisser, pointed to the importance of gradually resuming training meetings after Covid-19 pandemic, expressing his hope that the discussions would achieve their scientific and practical goals to serve Arab oversight bodies in the public investments fields and achieving positive indicators, which the organization seeks to record.

The JAB's step to host the meeting stems from its keenness to achieve ARABOSAI's goals , especially preserving public money and seeking to realize its appropriate investment, according to its statement.

34 trainees representing 17 ARABOSAI regulatory bodies members attended the meeting, from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Morocco, Mauritania, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine, Yemen, Syria, in addition to to Jordan, the statement added.
