Ammon News - The private sector has provided 20,445 job opportunities for Jordanians through the National Employment Program (Tashgeel), launched last April, Minister of Labor Nayef Istitieh announced Sunday.

During a press conference, Istitieh said that the employment program aims at providing job possibilities for about 60,000 young men and women and beneficiaries of the National Aid Fund, who will be able to keep up to 7 percent of the fund's financial support even while employed. Furthermore, the initiative is open to any private sector institution in the Kingdom, but only if it is registered with the Social Security Corporation, according to the minister.

He highlighted some of the most prominent measures that have been implemented since the launch of the program, including training the ministry's staff on employment, training 192 liaison officers from various entities connected to the program, visiting private sector institutions to introduce the program, and holding workshops for representatives of employers.

The program will on Monday begin a nationwide campaign to introduce institutions and youth to the program, he noted.
