Ammon News - Agriculture Minister Khalid Hneifat, in the presence of EU Ambassador Maria Hadjitheodosiou, on Sunday inaugurated the planting of the "Global Land Forum" (GLF) Forest in Arda area in Balqa Governorate.

The launch for the planting event was held prior to the Global Land Forum that is periodically held every three years by the International Land Coalition (ILC). The Kingdom will be hosting the ninth session of the event, in partnership with the EU, over four days as of Monday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Hneifat said that Jordan, through the national forestation plan, seeks to expand the green cover in most governorates, noting that the production capacity of the ministry's nurseries has been increased to five million trees.
