Jordan launched initiatives to provide healthcare services to Palestinian people-Hawari

Ammon News - Jordan, under His Majesty King Abdullah II's directives, has launched many Royal initiatives aimed to support the Palestinian people in the healthcare field and treat the sick, wounded and injured Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, Minister of Health, Dr. Firas Hawari, said.

Hawari made the remarks in his speech delivered at the 57th Ordinary Session of the Arab Health Ministers Council (AHMC) , held Sunday, in Geneva, on the sidelines of the World Health Assembly (WHA) meetings, which preceded its 75th session, according to a Ministry of Health statement.

Discussing the AHMC's first agenda item, which was dedicated to health conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, Hawari said these initiatives were represented in Jordan’s construction of several field surgical stations in the West Bank cities of Jenin and Ramallah and field hospitals in the Gaza Strip.

These surgical facilities and hospitals have been treating the Palestinian people for more than two decades until now, he noted, adding that Jordan has also received a number of wounded Palestinians in its hospitals for treatment.

Jordan, based on the historical Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian holy sites, has provided medical treatment to retirees and employees supervising endowments in the holy city, he pointed out.

For her part, Palestinian Minister of Health, Dr. Mai al-Kaila, lauded in her intervention Jordan's efforts made to provide treatment services to Palestinians at field hospitals over many years, in addition to other medical treatment offered to Jerusalemites.
