UN Security Council condemns assassination of Palestinian journalist Abu Aqleh

Ammon News - The United Nations Security Council has strongly condemned the killing of Palestinian journalist, Al Jazeera reporter Shireen Abu Aqleh, and the injury of another journalist by Israeli occupation forces near Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank.

In a press statement last night, council members called for an immediate, thorough, transparent, and impartial investigation into her murder, stressing the need for accountability.

The Council members stressed that journalists should be protected as civilians, noting that they continue to monitor the situation closely.
