Ammon News - The Israeli military authorities reopened the Beit Hanoun (Erez) border crossing in the northern Gaza Strip after a two-day closure, which was slapped after rockets were fired from the blockaded territory.

Thousands of workers from the Gaza Strip were seen this morning queuing at the border awaiting security clearance before heading to work inside Israel.

It followed an Israeli order yesterday evening to allow Gazan workers and merchants to enter Israel, citing improvement in the security situation.

After assessing the security situation, it was decided to resume the entry of workers and merchants from Gaza into Israel, said a statement by the office of the Israeli government coordinator.

However, it stressed that reopening the coastal territory hinged on the security situation in the region.
