Ammon News - Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Hneifat, on Sunday decided to exempt 200 items from the service fees, paid to the ministry on agricultural products and raw materials.
Under the decision, inputs of agricultural production for industrial purposes were "completely" exempted from the service levy, according to a Ministry of Agriculture statement released Sunday.
In addition, Hneifat said the move affected lab testing fees for products of all kinds, whether imported or exported, adding that these reduced fees reached 50% of the agricultural services levies.
The decision, he noted, will help increase volume of Jordan's agricultural products and production inputs exports to global markets.
This exemption will also help farmers and the agricultural industries sector to face hikes in production inputs hikes, as a result of various international crises, which will serve farmers and the national economy, according to Hneifat.
