Ammon News - The International Federation of Global Information and Communication Technology (IFGICT) on Tuesday awarded the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) with a shield of honor for its work in the field of green information technology.

Receiving the shield on behalf of the science institution, Executive Director of ICT for Development Sector at the RSS Ahmed Masadeh said that the recognition as a Green Business is a first for the Middle East and Gulf region, adding that it highlights the achievements of key organizations in enhancing their ICT infrastructures to reach world-leading standards.

The Green Business Certificate of Quality, he noted, was awarded based on a comprehensive ICT audit that was carried out over the course of almost a year, during which the Metanoia Training and Consulting, the IFGICT representative in Jordan, worked closely with RSS staff.

"With the full and ongoing support and collaboration of RSS management, the process of certification was achieved in record time, despite the difficult and challenging times we face due to the coronavirus pandemic", said Masadeh.

The process included several phases, starting with internal documentation control, followed by an internal audit of the infrastructure of the RSS Data Centre and each department of the RSS ICT for Development Sector and, finally, the comprehensive training of relevant RSS staff, he explained.

It is worthy to note that implementing the IFGICT ICT standards helps committed organizations to achieve coherent ICT quality management to enhance organizational development and greatly improve the quality of services and products provided for stakeholders and customers. It also helps to maximize employee satisfaction and skills-development.
