Ammon News - The Ministry of Health, in cooperation with Orange Jordan, will launch a blood drive next Sunday, ahead of the fasting month of Ramadan, which sees decreased blood donations.
In a statement on Thursday, the Director of the Blood Bank Department Asia Adwan said that the five-day drive will be held at the Orange village - Abdali, the bank's branched in Amman and West Amman and the blood banks in public hospitals across the Kingdom.
The drive, the statement indicated, is held under the title "A Drop of Blood Equals A Life," in support of patients suffering from thalassemia, cancer, hemophilia, blood diseases and children.
She said that the number of blood donors usually drops in Ramadan, during which Muslims fast for about 14 hours, making it difficult to donate blood, calling on eligible blood donors to participate in the national campaign.
