Ammon News - Under His Majesty King Abdullah's directives, Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi Thursday unveiled a new package of development projects in the Madaba governorate as part of the royal initiatives.

The projects include building 100 homes for underprivileged families, establishment of a factory within the "productive branches" initiative, which will create 200-400 job opportunities for members of the local community, in addition to building an elementary school for boys to address overcrowding, constructing and rehabilitating 3 public parks and installing recreational games and supplying the Princess Salma Hospital with the necessary equipment.

Issawi, head of the committee to follow up on the implementation of the royal initiatives, told a meeting with dignitaries and youth and women activists in Madaba that the new projects will be carried out according to a timeframe and in cooperation with the relevant government agencies and partners.

He said that His Majesty prioritizes achieving sustainable development, especially economic and social development, to meet the aspirations of citizens.

He also underscored His Majesty's commitment to reaching out to Jordanians, hearing their concerns, meeting their development and service-related needs and addressing them, pointing to a number of visits King Abdullah made to different areas across the Kingdom to look first hand at the reality of these areas and the challenges facing them.

These visits, he noted, were followed by royal directives to improve the services provided to citizens and implement lucrative development projects that would prop up local communities and the standard of living, as well as create job opportunities.

Issawi indicated that Madaba will see more projects under the royal initiatives to meet the needs of communities and target groups, pointing out that previously implemented projects and programs have reflected positively on them.

For their part, the local leaders commended the King's efforts to serve the country and the nation's causes, as well as his relentless efforts to enhance the economic reality and his ongoing directives to launch projects to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development.

Their demands focused on finding solutions to the problems of poverty and unemployment in their region, support farmers, agricultural projects and employment programs through productive and job-generating projects, improve health, educational, cultural and infrastructure services, support charities and sports clubs and attract investments to the region.
