Agreement signed to establish museum in Ramtha

Ammon News - A memorandum of understanding was signed on Sunday to establish a museum to protect Ramtha’s cultural heritage at a cost of 100,000 euros.

The Spanish Azuqueca de Henares Municipality-funded museum, would promote access to Ramtha’s cultural heritage, as well as promote tourism to the border city, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Monday.

The agreement was signed by Tayel Majali, chairman of the Ramtha Municipal Committee and administrator of the district, and Fadi Al Balaawi, director of the Department of Antiquities.

The museum building has been renovated by the municipality staff, who have ensured that the design of the museum is within the required specifications that comply with the requirements of the Department of Antiquities, Majali said.
