Ammon News - Aqaba will host the Oscar Pioneers festival in its fifth edition on Saturday, March 26, with the participation of local and international politicians, intellectuals, artists, women and businessmen, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The festival will be held in Ayla Oasis, where several activities, the most important of which is a conference titled "Global Women's Experiences in the Fields of Sustainable Development".
The conference will discuss the major challenges facing women, in addition to honouring the mothers of a number of Jordanian soldiers who were killed in line of duty.
It seeks to develop recommendations to prepare for a comprehensive international conference that addresses the major challenges related to activating women’s workforce participation.
Recommendations will be submitted to the official authorities and Representative of UN of Women in Jordan Ziad Sheikh, who will attend the festival, and Executive Director of UN Women Sima Sami Bahous.
Under the umbrella of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, with the participation of the Jordan Tourism Board and support of national companies, the festival will feature women pioneers, a display of traditional costumes by designer Intisar Abdo, performances for singers from Jordan, Lebanon, and Morocco, and drawings by art students at the University of Jordan.
