Qatari Minister of State for Energy Affairs and Chairman of the Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC), Saad Bin Sharida Al-Kaabi, said that Qatar's Nebras Power investments in Jordan are distinguished.

"Nebras Power has acquired shares in distinguished energy projects outside Qatar, specially the Oryx Solar Project in Jordan, the Zain project in the Netherlands, the solar energy project in Brazil, the Stockyard Hill wind energy project in Australia, and energy projects in Ukraine, Bangladesh and Uzbekistan," Al-Kaabi said in the QEWC annual general assembly held Tuesday via teleconference.

Al-Kaabi explained that the QEWC, through the RasLaffan Power Company Limited (RLPC), which is wholly owned by it, purchased the 40 per cent share of Qatar Holding Company in Nebras Power, and thus the entire Nebras Power has been fully acquired.

He stressed that the QEWC has achieved many accomplishments and tasks, and aspires to achieve more internally and externally, by expanding in diversifying energy production sources in Qatar, and increasing its share in global energy markets.
