Ammon News - Jordan Strategy Forum (JSF) on Wednesday held a roundtable discussion with a number of World Bank global directors, in the presence of JSF private sector's members.

The session tackled Jordanian private sector's insights and views on the priority reforms in the business environment, in addition to investment opportunities and government efforts to enhance investment volume, according to a JSF statement.

During the session, World Bank's global directors stressed the need to invest Jordan's opportunities and resources to accelerate growth, reduce poverty and unemployment, by adopting technology and digital transformation, and focusing on promising sectors such as tourism, agriculture, financial services, and industry and promoting exports.

In addition, the directors said World Bank views these sectors as a priority for Jordan, which requires private-public sectors' engagement to enhance their investments, which would increase employment rates for Jordanian youth and increase productivity, which is "positively" reflected in reducing the public debt ratio.

Meanwhile, JSF 's members discussed the challenges facing business and investment in Jordan, especially those related to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), ways to increase women's economic participation rates, Jordan's opportunities to invest in the green and energy economy, and means to achieve financial stability to enhance sustainability.

The discussion, which comes within the continued JSF's endeavor to contact local and international institutions and stakeholders, seeks to promote constructive dialogue on the most prominent economic developments, and emphasize the private sector's pivotal role in achieving the "desired" growth and job creation.
