15 Zarqa clinics warned over medical waste management rules

Ammon News - Zarqa Health Directorate teams have warned 15 clinics and fined another this month for violating medical waste sorting and management regulations.

Health Director Khaled Abdel-Fattah told Petra in an interview that during their inspection tours, Department of Environmental and Food Health cadres served notices against 22 factories, fined 1 and, as a precaution, temporarily suspended 6 public water sources. Eleven private water sources were also warned.

Abdel-Fattah said that the department's staff monitor Public Health Law enforcement, and have warned 26 cafes, fined three others and shut down one for violating the necessary health precautions.

He said health personnel also follow up on the reports of the Public Safety Committee and carry out surveys on irrigated crops and field and laboratory checks of vocational institutions, water desalination and purification facilities and water wells for licensing purposes.
