Ammon News - A drop in temperatures is forecast on Wednesday bringing cold weather and cloudy skies, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

At night, the Kingdom will be affected by a cold and wet air mass accompanied by a depression centered over Cyprus, pushing thermometers down and bringing chilly and cloudy conditions with rainfall in the northern region, extending to the central areas with strong westerly winds.

The weather department warned of low horizontal visibility triggered by dust, and of slippery roads in the areas experiencing rain.

Another drop in temperatures is forecast on Thursday, with very cold weather conditions and heavy downpours in parts of the northern and central regions, accompanied by thunder, hails and spotty snowfall in the mountainous regions, particularly in the southern range.

Cold weather will persist on Friday, with a weak chance for scattered showers in the northern and central parts of the Kingdom, and westerly moderate to brisk winds.

Today, mercury in Amman will range between a high of 15 degrees Celsius and a low of 3C at night, meanwhile Aqaba will see a fair 23C, dropping to 11C at night.
