Transport minister, Palestinian counterpart discuss ties

Ammon News - Transport Minister Wajih Azaizeh said Tuesday that Jordan will offer all possible facilities to Palestinian travel and goods freight via international crossings of the two countries, including the use by Palestinian traders of the Aqaba Port for export and import.

The minister spoke during a meeting with visiting Palestinian Minister of Transport Assem Salem to discuss ways and means of cementing cooperation in transport field and other areas of common interest.

Azaizeh told his Palestinian counterpart that it is important to see Palestine becoming a key part of the regional interconnectivity scheme, which will "positively reflect on all member countries."

The Palestinian minister highlighted Jordan's support of the Palestinians, noting the historic and deep-rooted bilateral relations.

He called for the rehabilitation of the Prince Mohammad Bridge as a commercial link to facilitate the flow of goods between the two sides.
