Jordan, GCC countries review joint social development cooperation in Muscat

Ammon News - Ministry of Social Development (MSD) participated in the 3rd meeting of the joint working group concerned with Jordan's cooperation in social development field with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in Omani capital of Mucsat.

The meeting went over updating the detailed Jordan-GCC social development plan, exchanging expertise in the protection and care fields, in addition to development-based programs, and cooperation to organize related events and workshops, according to a MSD statement.

The discussions also reviewed ways to exchange expertise in the social development fields, especially care provided to persons with disabilities, in addition to juvenile rehabilitation, protection from domestic violence and poor families empowerment, the statement added.

To push future action, Jordan formed a national team to cooperate with the GCC, chaired by MSD's Secretary-General, Barq Damour, who headed Jordan's delegation to the meeting, the ministry said.

In this regard, the team presented an action plan to the GCC to enhance social development cooperation at all levels and programs and highlighted Jordan's expertise in providing care to persons with disabilities, the statement pointed out.
