Ammon News - Ittihad of Alexandria president Mohamed Moselhy has announced the signing of the Jordan national team and Al Wehdat defender Abdallah Nassib, kingfut reported.
The Greens have been having a mediocre start to the season, winning just three out of their opening eight games as they sit seventh on the league table.
And in order to improve their season, the club have been active in the January transfer window, acquiring Zamalek defender Mahmoud Shabana on a season-long loan.
Days late, the club have reinforced their defence even more by agreeing a deal to sign Jordan international defender Abdallah Nassib on a two-year deal, according to kingfut.
The 27-year-old impressed in the FIFA Arab Cup, helping his country reach the quarter-finals despite having the likes of Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and Palestine in their group.
Nassib was then among the starting XI that faced Egypt in the quarter-finals and managed to help his team take the game into extra time; however, in the end, the Pharaohs still managed 3-1.
On the club level, Nassib started his career in That Ras club in Jordan, before moving to Al Ramtha in 2017 where he stayed for two years.
After that, Nassib then made a big move to Jordan’s giants Al Wehdat where he improved his game, which resulted in him joining the Jordanian national team.
He will now have his first experience outside of his home country as he joins Hossam Hassan’s men on a two-year deal, keeping him in Alexandria until June 2024.
Nassib could make his debut during the WE League Cup, set to take place during the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Alexandrian club will be participating in Group A alongside Future FC, Eastern Company, Al Masry, Misr El-Makkasa, and Pyramids FC.
