Ammon News - The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) on Thursday commended a government's move to streamline and facilitate the import of basic commodities and reducing inspection fees on some of them.
In a statement, the ACC said it had presented a set of demands and proposals regarding the reduction of inspection fees and sales tax on a number of basic and necessary commodities, stressing that the move would lessen the cost for importers.
The government's move will help ensure a stable flow of basic commodities and foodstuffs into the Kingdom and will boost the food stock, said ACC president, Khalil Al Haj Tawfiq.
Tawfiq added the government's decisions will also stimulate the economic sector, reduce the cost of some imported basic commodities and will positively reflect on consumers.
