Ammon News - UNRWA Tuesday said it will start compensating Palestinian families after the damage they have suffered from during the Israeli aggression on Gaza in April.
Adnan Abu Hasneh, a UNRWA advisor, said more than 4,100 Palestinian families will receive the cash assistance that totals USD8 million, adding they will receive their payments by Wednesday.
Abu Hasneh said the "partial damage" payments will be paid to Palestinian families whose homes have been damaged in the most recent Israeli military campaign against Gaza.
He said 3,974 families will be paid their assistance cash in full, while 171 families will get it in two tranches.
He highlighted the assistance programme excluded families that were compensated by other bodies, noting that UNRWA maintains direct coordination with the labour ministry in Gaza to avoid mistakes.
