Jordan Foreign Ministry denies the arrest of Jordanian woman in Lebanon

The spokesperson of Jordan Foreign Ministry Haitham Abu Alfoul on Saturday denied the arrest of Jordanian woman in Lebanon and he also denied that the woman being detained by the Jordanian embassy in Beirut.
Abu Alfoul stressed to Ammonnews, in response to Amnesty International, that the Jordanian embassy in Lebanon and elsewhere does not detain any one at all, clarifying that this is the duty of security authorities not diplomatic missions, stating that the embassy did not try to send the Jordanian woman back to Jordan.
He also added that the Jordanian embassy has not been notified about the arrest of Jordanian woman by the Lebanese authorities.
Amnesty International reported that a Jordanian refugee has been arrested by the Lebanese authorities just two days before she was due to fly out to Australia.
It added that the refugee is 25 years old and vocal queer and women's rights defender and was granted a humanitarian visa.
It said that the refugee faces persecution if sent back to her home country of Jordan.
