China: 30 people trapped in flooded coal mine

Ammon News - Chinese local authorities said on Thursday more than 20 workers were trapped in a coal mine after it had been engulfed by water due to illegal mining, in Shanxi province, North China.

The incident happened late Wednesday in Duxigou Village, Xixinzhuang Township. An initial investigation showed that 22 people were working in the mine.

Rescue missions are underway, as the local security department detained 3 people suspected to be involved in the incident and is hunting the mine owner who has fled.
