The Intercultural Achievement Award is a key project of the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs. The award honors successful and innovative civil society projects that identify and make use of opportunities which positively shape intercultural co-existence and interreligious dialogue. 7Hills is a Jordanian community-based non-for-profit organization that works to create safe public spaces through the construction of skate parks and offers free skateboarding with the aim of empowering local, migrant and refugee youths in Jordan. As continuing support of 7Hills’ mission and activities, Ambassador Wüstinger announced Austrian funding to the "Urban Education Program” for six months. This program combines free skateboarding classes followed by arts and crafts sessions for youths between 6 - 20 years old, with the aim to actively include girls and refugees. The next call for applications for the Austrian IAA will be launched in January 2022. Applications will be open to non-profit and commercial organizations from Jordan.
