Ammon News - During a press conference at Grand Hyatt Amman Hotel, EASTH SA announced the launch of European Rice in the Jordanian market as part of a comprehensive promotional program. The conference, which included several countries from the region, was attended by representatives of the Greek officials from the European Rice program, a number of Jordanian local media representatives interested in the food sector and professionals on the food chain and trade sector.
During the conference, Mr Konstantinos Astreidis – Project Manager of NOVACERT LTD - the Implementing Body of the European Rice program - spoke about the overall vision of the program, along with Konstantinos Giannopoulos - General Director of EASTH SA - Agricultural Business Partnership of Thessaloniki, who also provided detailed information about the European promotion program and key points on Greek rice production, highlighting the unique standards of quality and safety in comparison with current ones in the market.
In turn, Mr. Christos Gkantzaras, president of Agricultural Cooperative A’ Chalastra and rice producer, shared the most important themes of the agricultural cooperation and promotion program, and pointed out the most significant points of differentiation of the European Rice and the technologically advanced production conditions, which reflect to the protection of the environment and the health of the natural system and the grower.
Ms. Dana Naffa - Clinical Dietitian pinpointed the benefits of consumption of rice and its role as a food on the Mediterranean diet.
Chef Nojoud highlighted the rice’s evident quality through a vivid presentation of the cooking methods. She noted this through its rich flavor and even in the way of cultivation and production. In addition, she mentioned the ideal conditions of Northern Greek, which is directly reflected in the level of quality, taste and nutritional benefit. In partnership with a chef from the Hyatt Amman hotel, guests were offered European rice dishes.
This program, promotes the European Rice in Jordan, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates. It aims to raise awareness among the general public, food experts, distributors and wholesalers about the authenticity and unique production of European rice as well as enhance the competitiveness of European rice production in Greece. The total rice production in the Thessaloniki agribusiness partnership is around 153,000 tons, representing more than 55% of the total Greek production of approximately 255,000 tons.
European Rice also participate to HORECA JORDAN exhibition 7-9 December 2021 in Zara Expo Center, Hall B – Stand 114. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste the unique characteristics and high quality of rice, cooked by famous chefs. Exhibitions hours: 15:00-21:00.
