Jordan, Indonesia discuss economic ties

Ammon News - President of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Nael Kabariti, on Sunday met with a delegation from the Indonesian Ministry of Commerce, for a discussion on expanding and enhancing mutual economic ties, and the role of private sector institutions in this regard.

Kabariti called on the Indonesian side to invest in Jordan, especially in the sectors of renewable energy, transportation, railways, infrastructure, water, health care, logistics and education, as well as the financial sector, manufacturing industries, and information and communications technology.

He stressed that the commercial sector is keen to boost its ties with its Indonesian counterpart, underlining the importance of exchanging visits between the two sides and identifying areas of joint work, which will positively reflect on the volume of trade exchanges between the two countries and focus on promising sectors.

The Indonesian delegation, in turn, expressed keenness to provide new opportunities for the two countries' economic relations, intensify efforts in the next phase, and enhance joint cooperation, especially in the renewable energy and tourism sectors, calling for accelerating the signing of the free trade agreement between the two parties.

The meeting was attended by members of the JCC's board of birectors and its representatives in the Jordanian-Indonesian Joint Committee, and the head of the economic department at the Indonesian Embassy.
