Ammon News - Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for the Empowerment of Women, Musa Maaytah, discussed Tuesday with a delegation from the World University Service Society (WUSC) joint cooperation in the economic empowerment of women.
During the meeting, the delegation was briefed on the ministerial committee's efforts to empower women in the next stage. "The ministerial committee's work aims at empowering women in legislation, policies, programs and plans and to provide political support for the implementation of all related strategies, operational plans and measures," said Maaytah.
The minister stressed the importance of forming a culture supportive of women, highlighting the government's role and interest in empowering women economically, and integrating women and youth into political party life in light of the multiple societal and cultural challenges they face.
In this regard, he reviewed the outcomes of the Royal Committee to Modernize the Political System, which proposed groundbreaking elections and political parties laws related to youth and women.
The delegation presented the objectives of their institution and the project implemented in Jordan on "Economic Empowerment and Career Development for Women in Jordan, which aims at increasing the number of Jordanian women in the labor market and addressing the causes of female unemployment through training programs that meet the needs of the labor market.
