Ammon News - Google Maps fans spotted a Street View driver paying for a Mcdonald's drive-thru takeaway in Poppleton, York. Their bank card was visible in the image as they held it in their hand.

A hungry Google Maps driver appeared to risk exposing their bank details for a takeaway from a McDonald's Drive-Thru.

Eagle-eyed viewers exploring Street View were amused to find the driver doing a loop around a car park that winds up at one of the fast-food chain's kiosks in Poppleton, York.

Not only that, but the camera on top of the car was still on and recording, so their bank card is on view as they go to pay.

The video was uploaded on TikTok by user @googlemapsfun on Saturday (November 27) with the tongue-in-cheek caption: "Google leaking their credit card at McDonald's."

It has been watched more than 1.7 million times and people were in stitches over the awkward gaffe, although some pointed out the card was only shown on the reverse and the security number was not visible.

One viewer said: "Bro how can you mess up just blur it."

Someone else commented; "Think you are the one that just leaked it bro."

"My dad's car is in front of them lmao," wrote a third person.

Someone else said: "Lmao that's the back of the card not the front where it shows the numbers don't fool us."

It seems the Google Maps driver may have been aware of the potential security issue because they used the card face down and hid the CVC with their hand while paying.

This comes after a man filmed himself eating the entire McDonald's Christmas menu in a huge meal of more than 9,000 calories.

And a disgusted McDonald's worker filmed a drinks machine covered in earthworms and said they would be leaving the job as soon as they could.

The company said it was an "isolated issue" with the drains and was fixed and given a "deep clean" as soon as it was discovered.
