HTU, Octopian International sign MoU

Ammon News - Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), a Crown Prince Foundation (CPF) initiative, and Octopian International, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and joint cooperation memo to launch a national competencies and skills development program in the field of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence at the HTU's headquarters in King Hussein Business Park (KHBP).

The MoU aims to build on Octopian's scientific and practical success and expertise in implementing the national competencies and skills development program in the fields of cybersecurity, cyber risk management and artificial intelligence technologies, in addition to a commitment to work together to expand and sustain the program, which is the first of its kind in the Kingdom, an Octopian statement said Sunday.

Programs within the framework of the MoU aim to enable and develop skills in the field of cyber security and practices in the field of cyber risk management, in order to improve the skills and capabilities of Jordanian universities graduates who are interested in working in the field of cybersecurity and cyber risk management, obtaining comprehensive, in-depth and practical knowledge of cyber risks, and implementing effective and evolving global best practices to address and tackle the most pressing and priority cyber risk issues at the national level.

HTU President, Ismael Hinti, underlined the importance of this cooperation, which will have an active role in supporting efforts aimed at empowering national competencies and skills related to cybersecurity risks, and developing young national human cadres, which enhances the concept of building and developing national databases and systems that are important in terms of protecting national institutions and facilities. In addition to keeping abreast of latest developments and global concepts related to cyber risks and cyber risk management.

Octopian CEO, Tariq Jbarah, said through this partnership, his company aims to frame joint cooperation aspects in the field of cybersecurity, which include building and enabling national capacities to confront cyber risks, specially industrial security risks, and the increasing risks of cyberspace in light of the expanded technologies of the Industry 4.0. In addition to employing qualified competencies in the field of quantitative risk management, establishing an advanced center for managing industrial cybersecurity operations and rehabilitating HTU students to provide this center with trained, qualified and specialized competencies to ensure the sustainability and localization of these expertise in the Kingdom, and exporting these competencies to the region and neighboring regions as a main contributor to the national economy.

For its part, the Octopian team expressed its ambition to present a true model of partnership that combines the rehabilitation and empowerment of youth, building specialized national capacities and economic impact.
