Held in cooperation with the National Democratic Institute in Petra, the three-day event was attended by Reem Abu Hassan, a member of the RCMPS, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Mayada Al Shreim, chairperson of the forum, said that over three days, the committee’s key outputs and recommendations were discussed, notably those related to women and youth empowerment.

The amendments seek to change the phrasing to “the rights and duties of female and male Jordanians” from the previous “Jordanians’ rights and duties”, she added.

The recommendations, according to Shreim, also included amendments to the Elections Law, related to abolishing the requirement of resignation of female and male employees wishing to run for elections, to be replaced by submitting an application for an unpaid leave, to be made at least 90 days before the date of the election.
