Ammon News - Jordan exports about 237 industrial products to the Palestinian market, head of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry Fathi Al-Jaghbir said, indicating that promising opportunities are expected to increase these goods.
Speaking to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) on Sunday, Al-Jaghbir said that cement, aluminum products, whether barrels, cans or boxes, paints, and foodstuff, in addition to semi-finished products of iron and natural sand are the Kingdom's top exports to the Palestinian market.
The value of Jordanian industrial exports to the Palestinian market during the January-October period of 2021 amounted to nearly JD82 million, compared to JD63 million in the same period last year, marking an increase of 30.2 percent, he noted.
The Kingdom's exports to Palestine constitute 2.2 percent of the total national exports to various countries across the world, Al-Jaghbir pointed out, stressing that the Palestinian market is considered promising for Jordanian industries, due to the geographical proximity between the two countries and their deep-rooted and strong ties.
Jordan, he highlighted, faces a number of challenges that limit its commercial and economic relations with the Palestinian side, the most of which are restrictions imposed by the Paris Economic Protocol, which set a quota for a list of Jordanian goods that can be exported to the Palestinian market.
