"As the number of Jordanian doctors in Germany has been increasing since 2008, along with their families who settled in the country, the need arose for an organized entity to represent us and take care of our rights, support us in our scientific and professional career, and a social incubator for us as expatriates," added Abu Zamzam, who graduated from the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST)'s Faculty of Medicine.
On the establishment of the association, Abu Zamzam explained that a number of Jordanian doctors met and agreed to establish a closed group via a social media platform, to exclusively include Jordanian doctors residing in Germany, and the group’s task was to exchange professional and technical expertise and respond to inquiries of male and female doctors, and after several weeks the group was able to document more than 375 Jordanian male and female doctors, and a list of all names and specializations was developed.
Abu Zamzam noted that with the steady increase in the number of doctors to achieve the gathering objectives, the group's supervisors agreed on the necessity of forming a real entity on the ground and officially registered with the German departments in the form of an official non-profit association.
