Ammon News - Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) Director General Nizar Mhaidat on Sunday said that foodstuffs in the Kingdom are safe as they are subject to strict control measures.
Mhaidat refuted inaccurate reports about food safety circulated recently. Mhaidat said that "some information are based on old technical rules that were cancelled or updated,” according to a JFDA statement cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
He also highlighted the necessity of adhering to objectivity, noting that circulating misinformation could harm the economy and affect the public’s confidence in national bodies.
Mhaidat stressed that all imported foodstuffs are subject to strict control measures, notably the ASYCODA system, that basically assesses the level of risk.
