Ammon News - The Amman-based Arab Businessmen Union (ABU) President, Hamdi Tabbaa, stressed Arab businesspeople's keenness to make "unrelenting" efforts to achieve the union's goals, serve the Arab business community, reach pan-Arab economic integration and stimulate inter-Arab investments.

Addressing the ABU's regular annual meeting held remotely Wednesday, he underlined the need to hold a face-to-face meeting early next year for the union's members to discuss issues of concern to the Arab business community.

In an ABU press statement, Tabbaa also reviewed the ABU's " key" activities during 2020, which included "active" engagement in various business discussions and preparation of important proposals, recommendations and economic studies on various issues of concern to the business community.

The ABU has completed many economic studies, related to the pan-Arab economic situation after the Covid-19 pandemic, which were submitted to the Arab League, he said, adding that another study tackled Arab-Asian economic cooperation, highlighting stakeholders' role to face pandemic-induced repercussions on Arab economic sectors.

On the ABU's recent memoranda of understanding (MoUs), he said the first was inked with University of Business and Technology (UBT) in Jeddah and aims to cooperate in preparing studies, research, statistics and reports, while the second seeks to enhance joint Arab cooperation in various fields, with a number of specialized Arab federations.
