13-10-2021 01:24 AM

Ammon News -

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said Tuesday it expects a 2 percent growth rate in Jordan in 2021 and was more optimistic about 2022, upping the figure to 2.7.

In its economic report titled "Recovery during the Pandemic," published today, the IMF expected Jordan's economy to grow 3.1 percent in 2023. It also expected Middle East growth to hit 4.1 percent in 2022.

The report indicated the global economy is on an upward trajectory; however, the COVID-19 pandemic has slowed its progress, adding this led to lowering its expectation for global growth in 2022 from 5.9 percent to 4.9 percent.
