Ammon News - President of the University of Jordan (UJ), Nathir Obeidat, said that the return of students after an interruption of nearly two years, must come in parallel with safety.
In a statement issued Monday, Obeidat called on applying all health protocols, adhering to public safety procedures, distancing in classrooms and squares, as well as wearing masks, while taking vaccinations to avoid an increase in the number of cases; especially that 25 percent of students haven't received the vaccine yet.
He said that the university is counting on the students' commitment to these procedures in order to avoid negative repercussions on the health side, and imposing any penalties related to this matter.
He added that there will be a review of the health protocol three months after the return of students, especially with regard to dealing with students, "if we witness infections among them, and therefore the university is heading to conduct quick random tests at the university's faculties, centers and departments."
