Ammon News - Water Ministry inspection and control teams detected 22 new assaults on water lines for agricultural purposes during a security campaign in the southern Jordan Valley and Ghor Al-Safi in the Karak Governorate.
The Ministry said in a press release Tuesday that its crews carried out a surveillance campaign in the region during which they discovered 22 violations on water lines to feed irrigation ponds, fill tanks or water livestock.
The illegal water drawals, it pointed out, caused disruptions in water supplies to many areas in the governorate and largely affected their water shares and rotation, adding that the water lines were disconnected to continue an investigation into the matter.
The ministry stressed that its surveillance teams will continue their crackdown on violations in the various regions of the Kingdom to ensure a fair distribution of water and hold perpetrators to account.
