Prince Mired honours Tawjihi top achievers with disabilities

Ammon News - HRH Prince Mired, president of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, on Sunday honoured 12 students with disabilities who passed the General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi) with distinction, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Prince Mired congratulated one of the students, Maya Jadaan, for obtaining a score of 99.15 per cent and achieving the fifth rank among the top 10 in the Kingdom.

He expressed his pride in the determination of the students and their insistence to overcome any obstacles to their education.

The prince stressed that inclusive education is one of the council’s major priorities.

The prince added that since the issuance of the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the council, in coordination with the Ministry of Education, has begun implementing the Inclusive Education Plan.

The plan, supported by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), prepares a number of schools in Karak, Ajloun and East Amman to receive students with disabilities.
