Ammon News - More than 622,000 passengers travelled through the Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) during July, marking a major increase of 60 per cent month on month, according to the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC).
In a statement to Petra on Monday, CARC Chief Commissioner Haitham Misto said aircraft movement jumped by 36 per cent to 5,359 movements in July. The monthly increase, Misto added, brings the total number of aircraft movements to 20,569 since the beginning of this year, linking the Kingdom to 68 international destination directly, he added.
Following a government decision that exempts passengers who have received the two COVID-19 jabs from undergoing a PCR test upon entry, the percentage of passengers visiting the Kingdom picked up from 20 per cent in June to 28 per cent in July.
