The Cabinet approved, in a session held Wednesday, a tourism development plan in the Jerash governorate for the years 2021-2025.

The proposed plan aims to develop infrastructure and basic services in Jerash in addition to developing tourist and archaeological sites as well as tourist attractions and routes.

The plan also promotes tourism investment opportunities in the governorate by highlighting its story and identity. It also includes training, rehabilitation, tourism awareness and developing electronic services, events and activities and the governorate’s tourism map.

During the session, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Nayef Fayez said that this plan was prepared in coordination with the concerned authorities and with the participation of the local community. It focuses, he pointed out, on the top priorities to improve the tourism product and enhance competitive advantages in tourism in Jerash.

He pointed out that this plan will be a model for other plans that will be prepared to develop tourism in various tourist locations across the Kingdom.
