Health Ministry : 17 Covid deaths, 1,066 cases recorded Tuesday

Seventeen coronavirus deaths and 1,066 infections were recorded in the Kingdom on Tuesday, bringing the death toll from the pandemic to 10,239 and the infections tally to 785,697, according to the Health Ministry.

It also said in its daily report that the positivity rate of PCR tests collected today was 4.01%.

The report pointed out that the number of currently active cases reached 12,040, with 110 admitted to hospitals today and 74 were discharged. It said the total number of confirmed cases receiving treatment in hospitals stood at 664.

It pointed out that the occupancy rate of isolation beds in the northern region was 10%, intensive care beds 18% and respirators 10%.

In the Central Region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds was 20%, intensive care beds 29% and respirators 11%.

In the Southern Region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds was 13%, intensive care beds 15% and respirators 7%.

According to the report, 897 Covid-19 patients have recovered, bringing the total number of expected recoveries after the end of the 14-day isolation period to 763,418.

It also said that 26,611 PCR tests were conducted today, bringing the total number of swab tests registered since the beginning of the pandemic to 8,867,552.
