9 Covid deaths, 1,183 infections reported Monday

 The Ministry of Health said Monday it recorded 9 deaths and 1,183 new infections in the Kingdom, bringing the death toll from the pandemic to 10,222 and the caseload to 784,631.

Meanwhile, the positivity rate of PCR tests collected today was 4.27 per cent, according to the daily brief of the ministry.

It said that the number of currently active cases topped 11,888 with 81 admitted to hospitals today and 649 still being hospitalized, adding that 120 Covid-19 patients were discharged.

The report pointed out that the occupancy rate of isolation beds in the northern region was at 11%, intensive care beds 19% and respirators 11%.

In the Central region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds reached 19%, intensive care beds 30% and respirators 11%, it showed.

In the southern region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds was 12%, intensive care beds 12% and respirators 10%, it said.

It also said that 914 patients have recovered, bringing to 762,521 the total number of expected recoveries after the end of the 14-day isolation period.

The report also said that 27,681 PCR tests were conducted Monday, bringing the total number of examinations since the pandemic began to about 8,840,941.
